In my continued effort to share resources that
were offered while attending the Bishop's Assistants
Gathering, I want to call your attention to an electronic
newsletter provided by the ELCA called "Administration
Matters". Quoting from the masthead:
"Administration Matters addresses common, practical issues
including finance, governance, risk management, tax, legal
concerns and other topics of interest about day to day
operations and management in church
settings."
Wow! Doesn't sound very exciting, does
it? I almost fell asleep typing the description.
And yet here's the deal: we need this stuff. We need to
know how to manage this (occasionally boring) stuff. It
is much of what makes the often much more exciting STUFF be
able to happen.
So who is this for? It's for
pastors, church administrators, congregational officers, and
leaders. In other words, it's probably for YOU!
And it won't clog up your inbox. It only comes out six
times a year! Check it out at:

Easter blessings!

BOOK DONATIONS REQUESTED AT
ASSEMBLY FOR CENTRAL VALLEY BOOK
BANK
As we prepare to gather in Fresno for the
2009 Synod Assembly, we want to have a positive impact on
the community that will host us. One of the significant
educational resources in the greater Fresno area is the
Central Valley Book Bank.
The vision of the Book Bank is that
every child in the region will have access to an adequate
supply of appropriate books to help them become proficient
readers.
We are encouraging all delegates to bring
at least one new or almost new
children's book (grades K-6) to the Assembly. On
Saturday the books will be blessed and presented to a
representative from the Central Valley Book Bank. In
this simple way, each of us can make a positive difference in
the life of a child!
