Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

This was proclaimed in worship across our synod and around the world this past Sunday. Many will continue to proclaim it throughout the fifty days of the Easter Season. We proclaim with great joy that Christ, who once was dead has been raised and is now risen. The friends and disciples of Jesus found it hard to believe – some didn’t believe at all – but encountering the risen Christ inspired them into acts of evangelism, love, and mercy – as Jesus had taught.

As they lived their lives in the way Jesus had led, and as they continued to experience God through the Holy Spirit, and in community, and in service and worship, the wonder and power of the Risen Christ spread to new peoples and lands. And here we are, 2,000 years later, still telling the old, old stories and still proclaiming the Risen Christ in our communities and in our lives.

And that is how the people in our world will come to know Jesus – through us. And we are reminded of who Jesus is for us through other people. God’s love and care for all creation and all creatures and all people is incarnated through us, in this time and in this place. What a gift to be able to bear the love of God into a hurting and confused world! We won’t always do or say the ‘right’ thing – but when we follow God’s call to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God, we are about God’s work through our lives.

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Easter blessings to you –
