A Message from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary

Dear Friends in Christ,

If you are reading this newsletter on the day it comes out, April 3rd, then you are right in the middle of PLTS Big Give Day! Along with our parent institution, California Lutheran University, we are having a giving blitz today.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 in this 24 hours.  If you wish, you can support the seminary in two ways. Your gift to the Seminary Fund will go to where the need is greatest today at PLTS and will be matched dollar for dollar by Phyllis and Herbert Anderson. Alternatively, your gift to the Seminex Endowed Faculty Chair in Biblical Studies supports theological education for the future and will be matched dollar for dollar by Mary Gundelach.

Here’s how you can act right now! Please go to https://www.callutheran.edu/giving-day/ by midnight tonight. Click on the PLTS yellow button and choose the fund you wish to contribute to. The rest is easy.

(And, if by chance, you are reading this email AFTER April 3rd, there are fallback measures.  You can send a check to 2000 Center St., Ste. 200, Berkeley, CA 94704 or visit https://www.plts.edu/support/donate.html to make a regular gift online.)

We always tell folks there are three things you can do for your seminary.

·              First, pray for our students, faculty, staff, alums and donors.

·              Second, if you can, give a supporting gift.

·              Third, if you know someone interested in church leadership, send us their name.

And please know that we keep the people, congregations, synods and leaders of the ELCA in our regular prayers too.

Thank you for your support of seminary education in these important times,

Rev. Brian Stein-Webber
Director of Seminary Relations
Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary
