Executive Director

The Belfry campus ministry in Davis California is seeking an executive director.  The Belfry is a 40 year old campus ministry for UC Davis undergraduates and graduates.  In addition to its ministry to students, it operates the Lutheran Episcopal Volunteer Network, an intentional Christian community of young adults engaged in a year of volunteer service in the Sacramento region.  The Belfry is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Episcopal Church.

Working as a partner with the Belfry’s pastor, the Rev. Casey Dunsworth, the Executive Director will be responsible for all business operations of the ministry, including financial administration, budgeting, marketing and fundraising, maintaining relationships with local, regional and national church bodies, managing relationships with LEVN non-profit placement sites, and ensuring the smooth operation of the ministry.  The executive director will report directly to the Belfry board of directors, and will maintain both a “big picture” of the organization as well as manage daily operations.  The Belfry is seeking candidates with substantial education and experience in business operations and fundraising.  Salary will be in the range of $45,000 to $70,000, DOE, with performance incentives.

Administrative Assistant

Lutheran Church of the Master, Sacramento, California, is currently looking to fill the position of Administrative Assistant. The administrative assistant is a key role in maintaining normal church office work flow. Part-time position from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm daily Monday through Friday (25 hours per week).

Responsibilities include but not limited:

  • Develop and implement all office systems, including paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Complete necessary reports and forms in accordance with church procedures.
  • Maintaining monthly and yearly master calendar events.
  • Establish work procedures and schedules and supervise the work of office
  • Answer telephones and greet office visitors; direct all inquiries as required.
  • Ability to use PC computer and basic word processing and page layout programs such as Microsoft Word, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and others as required
  • Distribute or mail meeting notes, routine correspondence, and reports as needed.
  • Assist Financial Secretary in weekly and monthly financial recording.
  • Assist in drafting correspondence, creating newsletters, promotional materials and the weekly worship bulletin.
  • Maintain office files and event calendars.
  • Order repairs/maintenance in cooperation with the facility manager. Maintain monthly and yearly master calendar of events

Director of Teen Ministries

 Music Director and/or Worship Pianist/Organist

Silverdale Lutheran Church welcomes nominations and applications for the position/s of Music Director and/or Worship Pianist/Organist. This position/s will start in July, based upon candidate’s availability. 


Silverdale Lutheran is a vibrant, multi-staff congregation serving people in Kitsap County, Washington. With an average Sunday worship attendance of 375, worship and music are at the heart of our identity and mission. People at SLC value meaningful worship and see Word and Sacrament as the primary way we connect to Christ, making music ministry one of our highest priorities. We believe our music ministry is an essential part of our proclamation of the Gospel. 

SLC has been served well by our current Music Director/Worship Pianist-Organist for over 13 years who has worked . time but is retiring at the end of July. The congregation is now moving this position to full time and is excited about how this move can bring increased vitality to our worship life as well as help our congregation grow. SLC is committed to expanding our reach to our neighborhoods and community and to connecting more people to Christ. 

SLC’s current worship style is best described as blended. The congregation enjoys many liturgies, currently using five from ELW Hymnal, as well as some we have arranged ourselves. We appreciate traditional hymns, newer hymns, global music, and some praise songs. There are two services on Sundays which use the same liturgy. With a large pool of people with musical gifts, SLC is hoping to expand our number of choirs, incorporate more musicians in worship accompaniment, increase the frequency of solos in addition to our choir offerings, and extend our music ministry’s outreach to our community. 

Candidate Profile 

The ideal Music Director candidate will have sufficient experience in the field of church music and programming. In addition, he/she should have acquired the administrative, musical, and ministry skills required to lead a successful church music program. He/she can demonstrate effective communication, organization, and collaboration skills. The candidate should be technically skilled and experienced as a choral and bell director/conductor. He/she should be knowledgeable of and respect the traditional Lutheran liturgy. Also, he/she should possess a working knowledge of the Lutheran Church year, as well as the history of Christian Church music. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. 

The ideal Worship Organist/Pianist will have high caliber abilities to lead Lutheran liturgy and congregational singing on organ and piano as well as sight-read, compose and/or arrange music, and accompany vocalists, instrumentalists, and choirs. He/she has a working knowledge of variety of music styles, too. He/she can demonstrate effective communication, organization, and collaboration skills. 


Salary will be in accordance with the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM), and a benefit package is offered.
