Professional Leaders Conference Rescheduled
Since we met for the 2019 Professional Leaders Conference (PLC), the planning team continued to meet, both in person and virtually, as we secured a contract with Olympic Village for October 2020, a speaker, and began to look at the overall schedule. And then, Covid-19 hit and the world started to change. In early March we did not have any idea how the pandemic would reshape everything we knew about how we are “Church Together”, but we quickly realized that, perhaps, we needed to make some contingency plans. Working with staff of the Office of the Bishop and the consultant who helps secure venues for synod events, we were able to reschedule with the hotel until Fall 2021, at no extra cost to the Synod! So, we will be gathering in Olympic Valley – October 12-14, 2021.
The PLC planning team is currently thinking about the event in 2021 and are asking questions about what our Professional Leaders need this event to be each year, and how we can best plan an event that provides education, spiritual renewal, and a time “apart” with colleagues.
Meanwhile, we are also discussing holding a “Virtual PLC” in October 2020 — watch the Synod newsletter for those details.
