Are you feeling called to ministry in the ELCA?
The ELCA candidacy process begins with a discernment phase designed for individuals to reflect on their lives and discover a potential call to ministry or leadership within the church. This period of discernment focuses on several key aspects: understanding one's vocation, spirituality and prayer life, formative life experiences, relationships within a faith community, significant influences such as family background, the ability to articulate vocational aspirations guided by God's calling, and openness to serving where the church has a need. In this stage, individuals explore and affirm their sense of calling in the context of their community.
